Cuttack Municipal Corporation Issues Guidelines For Mosques During Ramzan

Cuttack: The Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) has issued guidelines today for all the mosques in the city during the month of Ramzan in the interest regarding health of general public and for the containment of the virus.

The people usually come together in order to offer prayer at the mosques which can lead to a potential rise of Covid cases in the city.

Following are the guidelines issued by CMC that must be adhered to during Ramzan:

  1. All religious congregations within the mosque or outside for Namaz during the month of Ramzan would be restricted to 100 persons or 50% of hall capacity whichever is lesser.
  2. Mosque management committee will be responsible for ensuring token-wise entry of persons.
  3. There will be social distancing marks at a distance of 6ft each where the devotees would sit/stand to offer the prayer.
  4. There will be no common washing facility for ablutions prior to the worship and only running water should be provided.
  5. Persons with comorbidities/senior citizens/children below the age of 5 years must not be allowed.
  6. Hand sanitization and thermal scanning facility at entrance and after prayer.
  7. Usage of mask must be adhered to for all the devotees.
  8. Devotees to maintain distance amongst each other while greeting and prayers.
