Cuttack: The Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO) has sent an eviction notice to Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) Deputy Mayor Damayanti Majhi.
Reportedly, Majhi;s house is located at Balisahi Slum in Jagatpur area in the city where the IDCO will begint a drainage work soon.
It has been learnt that IDCO has issued notices to over 20 families residing there to vacate the place by May 10 as the land belongs to the organization.
Meanwhile, Mayor Subash Singh has said IDCO has issued the notice without informing the CMC.
Notably, the slum could not be demolished without the permission of the CMC.
It is pertinent to mention that Damayanti Majhi had been elected as the youngest Deputy Mayor of Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC). She was declared winner after the corporators of BJP and Congress walked out of the indirect election in protest against its rules.
