Cuttack DCP Visits Barabati Stadium Ahead Of India Vs West Indies ODI

Cuttack: Cuttack DCP, Akhileshvar Singh today visited the Barabati Stadium for a security review ahead of India-West Indies one day international match on December 22.

Officials of Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) including its secretary Sanjay Behera was also present during the visit. The DCP also took a stock of facilities at the stadium.

“Preparations have already been started for the match. OCA has also assured that all the works will be completed before time. The usual three-tiered security will be in place for the match, with a security check at outer barricade for ticket inspection, then at inner gate and the final one inside the stadium,” said Singh.

OCA secretary Sanjay Behera said that restoration of the floodlights will be completed in next 4-5 days. “The stadium has sustained damage during the cyclone Fani. But we are hopeful of completing all the restoration work much before the match,” said Behera.
