Cuttack: Commissionerate Police seized 1 kg 38 grams of brown sugar from CDA area in Odisha’s Cuttack district on Monday. The cost of the seized contraband will be more than Rs 1 crore, sources said.
Acting on a tip-off, police conducted a raid near Madhusudan bridge area and seized the said contraband of brown sugar. At least three persons were arrested in this regard from the spot.
The accused persons will be forwarded to the court later today.
Cuttack Urban Police have managed to seize about 4 kg brown sugar in the last 5 months while 27 people have been arrested in this connection, said Police Commissioner Soumendra Priyadarshi.
