Cuttack Civil Court Complex Declared Containment Zone, As 39 Test Covid Positive

Cuttack: The Cuttack Civil Court Complex has been declared as a micro-containment zone by the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) on Friday.

As reported by Registrar, Civil Court, Cuttack, on January 13, Thirty Nine (39) cases of COVID-19 have been detected at Civil Court Complex, Cuttack which requires detailed measures for active contact tracing.

To facilitate this, it is necessary to declare the same Complex as micro-containment zone and to restrict public from entering into the same premises.

Now therefore, in larger public interest and with a view to contain the spread of COVID-19 Ananya Das, Municipal Commissioner, Cuttack Municipal Corporation and The Empowered Officer have directed that the court complex be declared as micro-containment zone.

Government of Odisha in the exercise of the power conferred under section 2, 3 and 4 of the Epidemic Disease Act 1897 has promulgated Odisha COVID-19, Regulations 2020 for containment of COVID-19.

And whereas, the National Disaster Management Authority, Govt. of India in exercise of powers conferred under Section 6(2)(i) of the Disaster Management Act 2005 has directed the state Govt./State Authorities to take measures for ensuring social distancing so as to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and directed the national executive committee under the said Act to issue necessary guidelines in this regard.
