Cuttack: In the tragic death case of former Christ College student Tushar Kanta Sahoo, Jagatpur Police arrested 2 persons on Monday here in Odisha. It is to be noted that body of the deceased had been recovered from Jobra barrage in Cuttack on August 5.
The arrested persons have been identified as Jubu alias Dibyaranjan Behera (26) of Daraghabazar area in Cuttack and Kaushal Pradhan (20) of Dolamundai of Pithapur Road under Purighat Police limits in Cuttack.
As per reports, on August 5, Jagatpur Police received information regarding dead body of a male person floating at gate No 80 of Jobra barrage. Later, the body was fished out which was identified as Tusharkanta Sahoo, aged about 19 years, a student of Plus II in Christ College, Cuttack.
In this connection instantly Jagatpur Police took up enquiry. After completion of enquiry of the UD case SI PK Das submitted a detail enquiry report and as per his report Jagatpur PS case No 382/21 Dt. 15.09.2021 was registered u/s 306/ 34.
During the course of investigation two accused persons were arrested today and forwarded to Court. Further investigation of the case is underway.
It is to be noted that Tushar reportedly went missing on the night of August 2. As he did not return home, his parents lodged a complaint at the Cantonment police station on August 3. Acting on the complaint, police began a search operation and found his motorcycle near Dhabaleswar Ghat of Mahanadi on Thursday morning.
