Cuttack: Heavy vehicles have been prohibited from entering Chhatra Bazar by the administration in the silver city of Cuttack.
The entrance through the old bridge has been blocked.
The unloading of goods is being done near Pilgrim Road in Cuttack, said sources.
In the tragic incident that occurred late last night at least two persons got killed while another one sustained injury in landslide that occurred in Chhatra Bazar area of Cuttack.
As per reports, work was in progress near Taladanda canal when the landslide took place.
One person has been rescued in a critical condition and rushed to the SCBMCH.
Some of the victims have been rescued by the locals. However, it has been believed that some other people are still trapped under the debris.
CM Naveen Patnaik has expressed grief at the death of two persons in the collapse.
The CM has conveyed his deep condolence to the bereaved families and announced ex gratia of Rs 3 lakhs for the next of the kin of the decreased persons.
