CRUT Begins Penalising Ticketless Passengers Of Mo Bus Service

Bhubaneswar: The Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) which manages the ‘Mo Bus’ service today started imposing penalty to the ticketless commuters.

CRUT officials said that any passenger found travelling without a ticket or pass is liable to be fined up to 10 times the legal fare payable by such person or Rs 500 whichever is less. 

“We request the passengers to cooperate with the checking staff and to travel in a bus with valid ticket/monthly pass and produce the same on demand by the checking staff during the course of checking,” said a CRUT official.

Currently, as many as 190 buses including 50 AC buses are plying on 20 various routes in Bhubaneswar, Khordha and Cuttack. The bus service caters to around 70000 passengers on daily basis.
