Crows found dead in Begunia in Khordha, Possibly bird flu

Khordha: More than 10 crows have been found dead in various places of Kotalanga village in Begunia area of Khordha district this morning.

The locals spotted the dead crows and were panic stricken. They immediately informed to the concerned authorities.

On getting the information, the Begunia Animal Husbandry team arrived at the spot to collect samples.

It is being suspected that the reason behind death of the crows might be bird flu infection that spreads among birds. Hence, the locals are scared as it can easily affect humans and other animals that come in contact with a carrier.

Earlier this year the scare of bird flu also loomed over death of more than 100 poultry birds in Khordha. However, Odisha government had asked people not to panic over the incident as the avian influenza virus test came negative in all five selected samples.
