Crocodile enters Tiger Enclosure in Nandankanan of Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: A crocodile has reportedly entered the tiger enclosure in Nandankanan Zoological Park (NZP) situated on the outskirts of Odisha’s Capital city, Bhubaneswar on Tuesday. The 4 feet long crocodile was last seen in the water body located inside the enclosure of the big cat in NZP.

As per reports, the visitors witnessed the crocodile in the water body of the tiger enclosure today morning. As the tiger was repeatedly roaring looking towards the water body the visitors became curious to know what is wrong in the water body and soon they found a crocodile there.

It has been expected that the crocodile might have sneaked into the enclosure from the nearby Kanjia Lake. Due to incessant rain, the water level in the lake is soaring. Perhaps that is the reason the reptile somehow entered the enclosure.

We are yet to get reaction of the Nandankanan Zoological Park Authorities in this regard.

It is to be noted that a similar incident had taken place last month when a crocodile had entered the tiger enclosure in Nandankanan Zoological Park. One of the animal keepers of the zoo came across the crocodile, in enclosure No. 33-A, where tigers named Spandan and Basu have been kept and informed about it to other staff.
