Sambalpur: A married woman of VSS colony in Hirakud of Sambalpur, who had sustained critical burn injury in a fire incident at her home under mysterious circumstances recently, succumbed at Burla Hospital here today.
Police have arrested the deceased’s father-in-law suspecting his involvement in the incident today.
The deceased has been identified as Jyotirmayee Satpathy, wife of Smruti Ranjank Nayak.
On February 23, Jyotirmayee sustained around 90 percent burn after flames erupted at her in-laws house due to some reason. She was admitted to VIMSAR Hospital by family members and remained critical.
However, the deceased’s minor daughter alleged Smruti Ranjan’s hand in the incident, following an argument, to media the next day and police took action accordingly. Jyotirmayee’s husband and mother-in-law was taken into custody on the same day.
Meanwhile, police has also arrested the deceased’s father-in-law suspecting his involvement in the incident today.
