Cow Vigilantism: Express train intercepted at Balasore Railway Station over ‘cow smuggling’

Balasore: Tension prevailed at the Balasore Railway Station last night after a cow vigilante group intercepted the 12868 Puducherry-Howrah Express on allegation of transporting cattle illegally without required documents.

As per the report, the members of ‘Go Surakhya Samiti’, a local cow vigilante group after it arrived at the station at around 8.12 PM and started claiming that some miscreants are smuggling at least 31 cows in it.

The GRP officials immediately swung into action and reached the spot to maintain law and order situation. Later, railway officials conducted verification of the documents of the cattle transporters which were found ok.

The train was allowed to leave the station at around 12.35 AM.
