Covid vaccination rate low in five districts of Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The vaccination rate is low in five districts of Odisha, informed Family Welfare Director and Odisha vaccination in charge Dr. Bijay Panigrahi on Wednesday.

The districts include Gajapati, Sundergarh, Cuttack, Angul and Mayurbhanj. In these districts except Mayurbhanj there is less coverage of the first dose of Covid vaccination and that of the second dose in Mayurbhanj.

Around 10 mobile clinics is carrying out vaccination in each block. Door-step vaccination drive is underway for beneficiaries yet to receive the first dose, informed Dr Panigrahi. 

A total of 46,109 persons received the precaution dose on Tuesday taking the total tally of persons administered with the booster dose in Odisha to 96,684.

Around 92% of beneficiaries have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine. Among them, 90% have received the second dose.
