Covid Update Twin City: Bhubaneswar records 1207 Covid-19 positive cases, Cuttack records 198 cases

Bhubaneswar: Bhubaneswar records 1207 covid-19 positive cases on January 28. On the other hand, Cuttack city reported 198 new Covid-19 cases today. The rapidly rising Covid-19 positive cases in Twin City remain a concern for the administration.

According to reports by Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), out of the total 1207 positive cases registered today, 21 cases are quarantine cases while 1186 cases are local contact cases.

With today’s development the total Covid-19 positive cases have increased to 1,49,227. The recovered cases are 1,36,352. The total deceased cases are 1115. At present, the active Covid-19 cases in Bhubaneswar stand at 11,739.

In the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC area) 198 new Covid-19 cases were registered. While 25 cases were Institutional quarantine cases, 86 cases were home quarantine cases. As many as 87 local contact cases were recorded today.

The total cases in CMC are 54,598 while the recovered cases are 52,063. Active cases today are 2106 while the deaths are 429.

The recovered cases in BMC and CMC today are 766 and 481 respectively.

Odisha reported 5,057 fresh cases of Covid in the last 24 hours including 667 in the 0-18 years age group, informed the Information and Public Relations (I&PR) Department on Friday.

The new 5,057 positive cases include 1,111 cases from Khordha, followed by Cuttack at 495, and Sundergarh at 429 in the last 24 hours.

Among the 5,057 positives, 2,932 patients are in quarantine, and 2,125 are the local contacts. Currently, the active cases stand at 64,217.
