COVID sero survey begins in Malkangiri

Malkangiri: The first serological survey began in Malkangiri district today to find out the prevalence of anti-bodies against the novel Coronavirus.

The three-day survey will be carried out by five teams comprising district health officials and experts from the Regional Medical Research Centre (RMRC). They will conduct sero tests on 1,500 people.

The district administration in collaboration with the Regional Medical Research Centre (RMRC) is carrying out the blood-sample study in the district for the first time during COVID-19 pandemic.

The first phase of the survey will be undertaken in Malkangiri Municipality, while random tests will be done in the rural areas in subsequent phases.
