COVID Infected Odisha Vigilance Director Debasis Panigrahi To Be Airlifted To Kolkata Hospital

Cuttack: The health condition of Odisha Vigilance Director Debasis Panigrahi is stated to be critical. Panigrahi, who is suffering from COVID19, will be airlifted to a hospital in Kolkata for advanced treatment.

The Odisha Vigilance Director who is undergoing treatment now at Ashwini hospital in Cuttack will be shifted in an air ambulance equipped with ECMO support.

Meanwhile, a 4-member team from Kolkata Super Speciality Hospital has arrived at Ashwini hospital to shift him.

Panigrahi was admitted to the after he tested positive for COVID-19 on May 29. He was put in ICU and then ventilator after his health condition deteriorated.

However, the medical experts decided to shift him to Kolkata Super Speciality Hospital as his oxygen level dipped continuously and he did not show any sign of improvement.
