Covid 19 Twin City update: Bhubaneswar and Cuttack record 1321 and 262 positive cases today

Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has reported a sharp rise in Covid positive cases in last 24 hours. As many as 1321 cases were reported in Bhubaneswar on January 16. On the other hand, Cuttack city (CMC area) has reported 262 positive cases.

According to reports by BMC, out of the total 1321 positive cases detected today, 31 positive cases are quarantine cases while local contact cases are 1290. The positive cases linked with earlier positive cases are 31.

The total cases in Bhubaneswar now stand at 1, 33,536 while the total recovered cases are 1, 24,292. The total death cases recorded in the BMC is 1103.  Active cases in the city are 8120. The number of recovered cases today is 510.

As reported on Sunday by CMC, out of the 262 new cases reported, 69 cases of local contact case were registered. The total case from home quarantine is 156. 37 cases of institutional quarantine cases were recorded today in the silver city.

Total Covid-19 cases in Cuttack city are 46,690 while the recovered cases are 45,514. The active cases today are 747. The deaths in the city are 429.

Odisha has reported over 11,000 covid-19 positive cases for the first time in the third wave.

The state on Sunday reported a massive spike in Covid cases with 11,177 positive cases including 3424 cases from Khordha have been detected in the last 24 hours.

The total cases include 1016 in the 0-18 years age group have been found, informed the Information and Public Relations (I&PR) Department.

Among the 11,177 positives, 6479 are quarantine cases and 1016 are local contacts. There are a total of 69,763 active cases.

The positivity rate stands at 14.49%.
