Covid 19 Twin City: 87 new covid positive cases detected in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack reports 10 cases

Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has reported 87 new covid positive cases as on December 31. On the other hand, Cuttack city (CMC area) has reported 10 positive cases today.

According to reports by BMC, out of the total 87 positive cases detected today, 13 positive cases are quarantine cases while local contact cases are 74. The positive cases linked with earlier positive cases are 13.

The total cases in Bhubaneswar now stand at 1, 23,689 while the total recovered cases are 1, 21,808. The total death cases recorded in the BMC is 1099.  Active cases in the city are 761.

As reported on Friday by CMC, out of the 10 new cases reported, 4 cases of local contact case were registered. The total case from home quarantine is 5. 1 cases of institutional quarantine cases were recorded today in the city.

Total Covid-19 cases in Cuttack city are 45,452 while the recovered cases are 44,840. The active cases today are 521.

In the last 24 hours, Cuttack city has reported 10 recovered cases while in Bhubaneswar 63 recovered cases were registered.

A total of 228 Covid-19 positive cases including 32 in the 0-18 years age group have been detected positive in Odisha in the last 24 hours.

This has taken the tally of Covid to 10,54,834 informed the Information & Public Relations (I&PR) Department on Friday.

Among the 228 positives, 131 are quarantine cases and 97 are local contacts.
