Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government imposed weekend shutdown to contain the spread of Covid-19 came into force from today morning.
The weekend shutdown have been put in place in all the urban areas of the 30 districts of the State.
As many as 32 platoons of police force, including 12 in Cuttack and 20 platoons in Bhubaneswar have been deployed to ensure strict compliance of the shutdown norms.
Around 100 officers in Cuttack and 150 in Bhubaneswar are deployed for effective enforcement of weekend shutdown in the twin city.
There will be 25 checkpoints set up in Cuttack city, and 43 in Bhubaneswar to enforce the weekend shutdown. The checkpoints will ensure that there is no movement of people and if there is a movement, to check them and allow if they belong to the exempted category,
