Covid 19 positive cases remains a concern for Twin City of Odisha

Bhubaneswar: As on January 9, the Covid-19 positive cases in Twin City of Odisha remains a concern for the administration. Bhubaneswar recorded 574 positive cases while Cuttack city reported 227 new Covid-19 cases today.

According to reports by Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), out of the total 574 positive cases registered today, 63 cases are quarantine cases while 511 cases are local contact cases.

With today’s development, the total Covid-19 positive cases have increased to 1,26,647. The recovered cases are 1,22,700. The total number of deceased cases are 1103. At present, the active Covid-19 cases in Bhubaneswar stand at 2823.

In the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC area) 227 new Covid-19 cases were registered. While 39 cases were Institutional quarantine cases, 89 cases were home quarantine cases. As many as 99 cases recorded today are local contact cases.

The total cases in CMC are 46,917 while the recovered cases are 45,543. Active cases today are 945 while the deaths are 429.

The recovered cases in BMC and CMC on January 9 are 114 and 29 respectively.

As many as 4714 Covid-19 positive cases including 1619 from Khordha have been detected in the last 24 hours.

The total cases include 416 in the 0-18 years age group have been found, informed the Information & Public Relations (I&PR) Department on Sunday.

Among the 4714 positives, 2755 are quarantine cases and 1955 are local contacts. There are a total of 16,117 active cases. The positivity rate stands at 6.71%.
