Covid 19 positive cases continue to rise in Twin City of Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Covid-19 positive cases in Twin City of Odisha continue to rise in last 24 hours. As on January 8, 2022 Bhubaneswar (BMC) recorded 581 positive cases while Cuttack (CMC) has reported 262 new Covid-19 cases.

According to reports by Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), out of the total 581 positive cases registered today, 82 cases are quarantine cases while 499 cases are local contact cases.

With today’s development, the total Covid-19 positive cases have increased to 1,26,073. The recovered cases are 1,22,586. The total number of deceased cases is 1103. At present, the active Covid-19 cases in Bhubaneswar stand at 2363.

In the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC area) 262 new Covid-19 cases were registered. While 37 cases were Institutional quarantine cases, 156 cases were home quarantine cases. As many as 69 cases recorded today are local contact cases.

The total cases in CMC are 46,690 while the recovered cases are 45,514. Active cases today are 747 while the deaths are 429.

The recovered cases in BMC and CMC on January 8 are 105 and 10 respectively.

As many as 3679 Covid-19 positive cases including 1223 from Khordha have been detected in the last 24 hours. The total cases include 384 in the 0-18 years age group have been found, informed the Information & Public Relations (I&PR) Department on Friday.

Among the 3679 positives, 2148 are quarantine cases and 1531 are local contacts. There are a total of 11663 active cases. The positivity rate stands at 5.15%.
