COVID-19 lockdown: Foreign liquor seized in Bhubaneswar, one arrested
Bhubaneswar: Police on Wednesday seized huge quantities of Indian-made foreign liquor at Gohira Chhak here in Odisha and arrested a person in this connection.
Based on a tip-off, QAT of Commissionerate Police and Tamando police conducted a joint raid at Gohira Chhak this afternoon and arrested one Prakash Chandra Parida on charges of selling foreign liquor illegally.
Police seized 202 bottles of foreign liquor each contain 180 ml, cash of Rs 5420, one Honda Creta SUV bearing Regd No OD 02 AQ 0993 and a cell phone from his possession.
A case has been registered under section 269, 270, 188 IPC 188 OUP ACT/52(a) Odisha Excise act at Tamando police station and the accused will be forwarded to the court today, a police official said.
