Bhubaneswar: The first Covid lockdown of the year 2021 has started in Odisha from today. It will be a 14-day-long lockdown.
The lockdown shall start from today i.e. May 5 and continue till May 19.
Police personnel have been deployed at various places to check on the traffic and to urge people to stay home and follow Covid appropriate behaviour.
It is noteworthy that the government has decided that for the convenience of the people, from 6 am to 12 noon shops selling essential commodities shall remain open.
However, people are allowed only to walk down within 500 meters and complete their purchases.
Furthermore, there will be complete shutdown on Saturday and Sunday (weekend shutdown) till May 19.
