Bhubaneswar, April 21: In the wake of coronavirus pandemic a major problem has been witnessed regarding sealing of the state boarders to check entry of persons from other states. Accordingly, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will talk to 6798 Gram Panchayats of Odisha tomorrow, Odisha Govt’s COVID spokesperson Subroto Bagchi intimated about it in the 4.30 pm press briefing today.
It is to be noted that yesterday Subroto Bagchi had mentioned that out of the total number of Corona Positive cases in the state then (yesterday it was 74) 24 had traveled from West Bengal.
Hence, the common question now is why all the state boarders are not sealed so far completely.
Bagchi in the press briefing today tried to answer to this common query. It is practically difficult enough to seal the whole boarder of the state which expands over thousands of kilometres in different bordering districts of Odisha and the coast. And many of the areas of the boarder are dense forests. Hence, only Police and other departments of Govt practically can’t stop entry of people from other states.
Accordingly, now the responsibility of Gram Panchayats becomes important because they can be expected to do something regarding entry of persons from other states.
In this circumstance, Chief Minister of Odisha Naveen Patnaik will talk to 6798 Gram Panchayats of the state through video conferencing tomorrow.
