Covid-19 cases decline in Odisha with 271 positives

Bhubaneswar: A total of 271 Covid-19 positive cases including 60 in the 0-18 years age group have been detected positive in Odisha in the last 24 hours taking the tally to 10,44,699 informed the Information & Public Relations (I&PR) Department on Thursday.

Among the 271 positives, 158 are quarantine cases and 113 are local contacts. However 317 patients recovered in the State taking the total number of 10,33,344.

Besides the State Pool has 25 new Covid positive cases.

On the other hand, the State Health & Family Welfare Department informed about the death of two COVID infected patients, taking the death toll to 8,370 after due completion of death audit process. The list does not reflect deaths occurring on a particular day. It gives details of past deaths for which the death audit process has been duly completed and the cause of death has been identified as due to Covid-19.

Details of cases confirmed as death due to Covid-19, after due completion of death audit process:

  1. A 65 years old Male of Bhadrak district who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus & Hypertension.
  2. A 83 years old Male of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Hypertension.
