Gajapati: A man and his wife have fallen critically sick after consuming home-grown cauliflower in Halapanka village under Mohana police limits in the Gajapati district.
Reportedly, the couple, Jabitra Gamanga and Namita Gamanga had cultivated cauliflower in their own backyard.
They had used Anaconda insecticide on the crop to protect from insect infestation almost three days ago.
However, the duo fell ill after cooking the cauliflower on Thursday evening for dinner. They had severe stomach ache and felt nausea.
They asked their neighbours for help and they were immediately admitted to Mohana Healthcare Centre. Till the last reports came in, their health condition was reportedly stable, informed the doctors.
It is being suspected that they might have suffered from food poisoning due to the insecticide.
