Cooking gas cylinder explosion in Khurda: Odisha CM announces ex-gratia for kin of deceased

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday expressed deep condolences to the bereaved family of a person who died due to the explosion of a cooking gas cylinder at Gumbharimunda village Banapur police station limits in Khurda district. Besides, the Chief Minister announced ex-gratia for the kin of the deceased.

Patnaik reportedly, announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh for kin of the deceased person and directed the concerned officials to provide better treatment to all those who have sustained serious injuries in the incident and are undergoing treatment at the hospital.

It is to be noted here that as many as 10 persons, including seven from a family, had sustained critical burn injuries following the explosion. All of them were admitted to the local hospital and later were shifted to Bhubaneswar where one of the injured persons passed away.
