Cooking Gas cylinder explodes inside Army Train in Puri, 2 critical

Puri: At least two person were critically injured after a cooking gas cylinder exploded inside INS Chilka Special Army train at the railway station here on Wednesday. The train was stationed in Puri for maintenance work and was slated to leave for Mumbai tomorrow.

According to reports, a cooking gas cylinder exploded inside the pantry car of the army train at around 4 PM. The pantry car manager sustained critical injury and was rushed to the district headquarters hospital.

Two fire brigades were roped in to douse the flame caused at platform No-2.

Several trains including some express trains were in the station when the mishap took place. However, the timely action by the firefighters prevented the fire from spreading and causing a major mishap.

Investigation is underway to find out the cause behind the explosion of the gas cylinder.
