Kandhamal: A contractor was allegedly shot dead by Maoists at Damanapadar village under Phiringia police limits in Kandhamal district on Saturday.
As per reports, a group of armed Maoists came to the village late on Saturday night and took the contractor Kailash Digal to the outskirts of the village and killed him.
The red rebels left posters and leaflets near the body of the contractor before fleeing the spot.
The body of Digal was spotted by a few locals on Sunday morning who later informed the police.
Meanwhile, the combing operation has been expedited to nab the culprits.
