Rayagada: At least one person was killed and another sustained critical injuries after a car they were travelling in hit a roadside tree near Gumuda in Rayagada district today.
The deceased has been identified as Madhu Sahu, a Contractor by profession.
As per the report, Sahu visited Berhampur in official work and was returning his home in Rayagada when the crash took place in the wee hours. Driver of his car lost control over the wheels to dashed the vehicle against a roadside tree.
While the crash left the car badly mangled with Sahu dead on the spot, the driver sustained grievous injury.
Later, local police rushed the injured to Gunupur Sub Divisional Hospital for treatment and seized the body for autopsy.
