Construction Of Jatni Flyover Resumes

Khordha: Construction work of Jatni flyover resumed today after newly elected MLA of Congress Suresh Routray performed puja at the construction site.

The construction of the flyover was delayed after the state government in August last year had removed Panda Infraproject Ltd from executing the project for the poor quality of work and delay in execution. Around 50 percent of the construction work has been completed so far

Works department officials said that Biraja construction has been entrusted with the construction work. “The balance work will be completed in 18 months and we will ensure quality work. We will also try to complete the project before the deadline for convenience of people of Jatni,” said assistant executive engineer (R&B), Purna Chandra Pradhan.

Panda Infraproject Ltd has been in the eye of the storm over the construction of Jatni flyover after local residents had alleged poor quality of work. Following allegations of irregularities in the under-construction Jatni flyover, a 10-member team of the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Rourkela in October 2017 had conducted an inspection.
