Constitution Day of India observed in KISS, Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Students of Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) took oath to become responsible, committed and law-abiding citizens of India on the occasion of the 69th Constitution Day of India on November 26, 2018.

Constitution Day (National Law Day), also known as Samvidhan Divas, is celebrated in India on November 26 every year to commemorate the adoption of Constitution of India. On this day in 1949, Constituent Assembly of India had adopted the Constitution of India, while it came into effect on January 26, 1950.

On this occasion addressing the students, Dr. P. K. Routray, CEO of KISS spoke about the significance of this day and elucidated why it needs to be celebrated by the student community. Hailing Dr. B. R. Ambedkar as the principal architect of the constitution, he said constitution is the holy book of our nation and we all should obey it with reverence. Shri P. C. Behera, a KISS teacher, said that it took the Constituent Assembly 2 years 11 months and 17 days to accomplish the stupendous task of drafting Constitution. Ms. Supriya Patnaik of KISS administered the oath to the students as a mark of respect and compliance to the doctrines of our constitution as per its preamble.

Among others, Shri P. K. Patra, Dy. CEO, KISS and Shri W. Easwar, F.O., were present on the occasion.
