He thanked Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Health minister Pratap Jena and doctors of  AIIMS for their cooperation.

He expressed anxiety about the second phase surgery which would be carried out by an American doctor after 35 days and hoped it would be successful with the blessings of the Lord Jagannath.

An NGO worker from Kandhamal, Ashwini Kumar Nayak, who had helped the parents of the conjoined twins all through their journey to AIIMS, informed that both have been provided with a mini ICU facility inside the hospital ward. Four doctors have also been engaged on duty in the hospital 24 hours.
