Bhubaneswar: Congress MLA from Kotpad Chandrasekhar Majhi on Wednesday dragged himself into a controversy when he tried to forcibly enter the State Secretariat defying the security norms laid down for entry into the premises.
Majhi was stopped at Gate No. 1 by the security personnel when he tried to enter the State Secretariat riding a scooter. Furious at the action, the legislator llegedly misbehaved with the security personnel and attempted to slap one of them.
Talking to Kalinga TV, Majhi said, “I am not aware of the security norms. I felt insulted by the way the security personnel behaved with me. I didn’t misbehave with them.”
The Secretariat security norms say that pedestrians and bikers are not permitted to enter the secretariat through Gate No. 1 from 9.00 am to 6.30 pm. However, there are other gates earmarked for two wheelers.
