Congress leader from Lanjigarh Pradip Disari joins BJD
Bhubaneswar: In yet another blow to Congress trying to regain strength in Odisha, former MLA candidate of the party from Lanjigarh constituency in Kalahandi Pradip Disari today joined BJD here.
Disari, along with over 500 odd supporters was inducted into the conch party fold at Naveen Niwas here at a special function in the presence of party supremo Naveen Patnaik.
Reacting on the joining of Disari, CM Naveen Patnaik expressed his gladness and hoped that the move of the former Congress leader will further strengthen the party.
Similarly, by giving a cause for his quitting of the grand old party Disari claimed that he was being neglected in there constantly.
“I was not being invited to various party meetings while in Congress,” alleged the Lanjigarh leader.
He got inspired by Odisha CM and BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik’s leadership to take the decision, claimed Disari.
Notably, Disari had contested from Lanjigarh Assembly constituency in Congress ticket in 2014 and got 42,500 votes.
