Cong, BJP, CPI (Maoist) extend support to NNKS ‘Odisha Bandh’

Bhubaneswar: The Naba Nirman Krushak Sangathan (NNKS) has found new supporters for its scheduled February 21 ‘Odisha Bandh’ in the form of Opposition parties like Congress, BJP along with Maoists today.

As per the report, confirming the grand old party’s support to for the NNKS bandh OPCC President Niranjan Patnaik today that his party is with the body in its fight for the rights of the farmers.

Similarly, Odisha BJP President Basant Panda also extended his support to the bandh for farmers yesterday by maintaining it that, the saffron party is with the farmers in expressing their opinion and fighting for their rights against the anti-farmer policy of the State Government.

Similarly, a number of Maoist posters which were found in Baliguda area of Kandhamal district was also seen appealing people to make the NNKS February 21 bandh a success and sharply criticised the Odisha government for oppressing farmers.

The NNKS is demanding price, prestige and pension for the farmers in the state including a security allowance of Rs 5,000 per month for them.
