Bhubaneswar: The Traffic wing of Bhubaneswar- Cuttack Commissionerate Police introduced a web portal on Monday with an aim to keep pace with the growing traffic in the Smart City.
Police Commissioner Y.B. Khurania launched the web portal which also aims at making the denizens aware about traffic rules and regulations as well as bring transparency among them.
Apart from the web portal, a Variable Message Sign (VMS) was also introduced for public convenience during road blockade.
Traffic congestion, feedback and contact forms, learning signs and symbol, learning rules & regulations, prepaid auto prices, student traffic volunteer scholarship scheme form download and test your skills are some of the major features of the web portal.
Speaking to the media on this occasion, Khurania said, “For the first time in Commissionerate Police, we have introduced cooling jacket for our traffic personnel to lower physical discomfort. By wearing it, 10-12 degree centigrade temperature will get slashed. Our traffic personnel doing duty in scorching sun will feel more comfortable.”
As many as 16 TVS Apache 160 CC motorbikes were also given to the male traffic personnel for Traffic PCR patrolling duty. They were flagged off by the Police Commissioner along with other senior officials.
