Bhubaneswar: The Twin City Commissionerate Police issued a traffic advisory for hassle-free traffic arrangement during Maha Shivratri at the Lingaraj Temple in the capital city. This advisory was issued keeping in view the large congregation of thousands of devotees here on March 1.
In view of the above, the following advisory has been in the larger interest of public safety, convenience, and smooth flow of traffic:
1. The vehicle coining to Lingraj Temple on Rath road and Punama gate side shall be diverted from Badheibanka square (Muna Medical store) towards BM High school ground for parking.
2. Vehicles coming to Lingaraj Temple from Kedar Gouri Temple side may avail the Koti tirtha lane and park their vehicles at BMC new market complex parking/Ananata Basudev temple parking. Vehicular movement through Koti tirtha lane will be made one way for this purpose from Sidhi Mandap Lane side.
3. The vehicle coming on Vivekananda Marg/Sanitorium square side towards Lingraj Temple shall be diverted at Kachara Pindi on Kedar Gouri temple road towards BMC market complex/Ananta Basudev parking via Koti Tirtha lane.
4. The vehicles coming from Garage Chhak as well as Samanatrapur side via Sri Ram Nagar towards Lingaraj Temple shall be diverted to BMC market complex parldng/Ananata Basudev temple parking from sub-station square.
5. The vehicles coming from Keuta Sahi side towards Lingraj Temple shall be diverted from Kedar lane to BMC market cornplex/Ananta Basudev parking via sub-station square.
6. The vehicles coming from Tara Sundari road towards Lingarj Temple shall not be allowed up-to Badhci banka Chhak and shall be diverted from Municipality Hospital to BM High school ground for parking.
7. The vehicles of invitees/Govt. Officials coming on Rath road may take diversion at Badheibanka square towards dedicated parking areas listed below via Municipality hospital road.
The following places have been decided as designated parking places:
• General Parking places-: BMC new Market complex, Ananta Basudev Temple (North and rear side) and BM High school (playground).
• Police Vehicles/Govt. Vehicles-: SM High school (Northern side paved area) % Invitees parking-: in front of South gate adjacent to B.M High school Sebayat Parking-: Paved area in between-Hata sahi Banyan Tree (Bara gachha) & Electric Pole adjacent to lions gate.
• MEDIA Parking-: Adjacent to Hata (Weekly Market) frontal area. Media personnel two wheeler parking inside Hata. 9. Contingency parking places.
• Single lane parking from Kachara Pindi towards Kedar gouri temple. % Vacant space adjacent to kachara Pindi (left flank) emerging at Koti tirtha lane.
The above restrictions shall be effected from 02 AM on 01.03.2022 till illumination of Mahadipa and dispersal of Crowd.
