Commissionerate Police issues advisory for Holi celebration in Twin Cities

Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police on Wednesday issued an advisory to ensure a safe and incident-free Holi.

Police Commissioner Satyajit Mohanty informed that the city police will conduct raids in both Cuttak and Bhubaneswar to test chemicals in colours.

“For security purposes, 16 special mobile patrol teams will be active in Bhubaneswar and eight teams will be active in Cuttack. Armed picketing will be conducted at 28 places and striking force along with ODRAF teams deployed at four sensitive places in Bhubaneswar and the picketing will also be conducted at 25 places and striking force along with ODRAF teams will be deployed at two sensitive places in Cuttack,” said Mohanty.

Besides, 15 platoons of police force will be deployed in Bhubaneswar and 10 platoons in Cuttack to maintain the law and order during the Holi celebration this eyar.

While 16 special mobile patrol teams will be active in Bhubaneswar, eight such teams will be active in Cuttack. All PCR vans will also be used for mobile patrolling and traffic enforcement will also be intensified to check speed biking and sound pollution.

Mohanty also informed that the Commissionerate Police has asked the State Pollution Control Board to deploy staff for conducting raids and checking the use of chemicals in colours.
