Commissionerate Police conducts workshop on ‘Blue Whale’

Workshop on Blue Whale GameBhubaneswar: To sensitize young people, particularly students,  about the menace of the deadly internet game ‘Blue Whale Challenge’,  the Commissionerate of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack conducted a workshop here on Friday.

Speaking at the workshop, Commissioner Y B Khurania urged the parents and teachers to prevent their children from playing the deadly Blue Whale Challenge. He also appealed to the guardians to monitor the behavioural changes in children who spend on the internet.

“The parents should explore the internet with their children, which would be beneficial for them and would ensure that they are browsing the internet the ethically correct way,” said Khurania.

“The teachers working at various educational institutions should keep an eye on the performance of the students in their studies and other activities, and discuss with them the pros and cons of the internet from time to time,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Commissionerate Police has managed to rescue three students, two boys and a girl, from the clutches of Blue Whale Challenge in the Twin City this week.

IIT, Bhubaneswar assistant professor Dr P Bera, UNICEF child protection specialist L Nanda, Principal, SCB Medical College Cuttack Dr Sidhartha Das, Bhubaneswar DCP Satyabrat Bhoi, Professors of various universities, Principals of different schools and colleges, parents, and guardians took part in the deliberations
