Commissionerate Police arrests 2 for vandalizing Saheed Nagar PS in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Expediting its action against the accused involved in vandalizing Saheed Nagar Police Station and injuring at least four cops here last Sunday, the Commissionerate Police today arrested at least two persons.

Informing on the arrests, Police Commissioner Satyajit Mohanty said police is trying to nab all the accused involved in the attack and trying to trace them.

Notably, on March 3, a dispute had taken place between two groups in VSS Nagar area and a PCR van had brought a group of youth to Saheed Nagar Police Station. However, things took ugly turn after 8-10 members of the rival group arrived at the police station and tried to manhandle the detainees.

As the cops present at the spot tried to prevent the attackers, they started vandalizing the properties at the police station and damaged TVs, CCTV cameras, flower pots and furniture. Later the miscreants thrashed the IIC, ASI and constables mercilessly in which they sustained grievous head injuries.
