Commission of Inquiry For Chit Fund Scam In Odisha Submits Seventh Interim Report

Cuttack: Justice MM Das Commission of Inquiry probing the multi-crore chit fund scam in Odisha today submitted its seventh interim report to the state government.

In the report, the Commission has furnished details of over one lakh small investors who had invested less than Rs 10000 in Ponzi companies, expecting higher returns.

“As many as 136027 small investors have been identified during the inquiry from January 2019 to May 2019. The Commission has recommended refunding money to these investors from the corpus fund,” said Justice Das.

He also added that around 50000 to 60000 small investors are remaining who will be covered in the next report.  “Till now, 1931 investors have got back their money from the Commission,” he said.

Earlier the Commission has submitted its sixth interim report on February 12 this year.
