College student’s body found from forest in Nabarangpur

Nabarangpur: The body of a college student who had gone missing for last five days was found from a forest near Maidalpur in Odisha’s Nabarangpur district on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as Ram Bhatra (18) of Naktiguda village under Papadahandi police limits in the district. He was studying Plus II 1st year Arts at Dalimba Dei Mahavidyalaya, Papadahandi.

The locals spotted the youth’s body in the forest this morning. The body was in a pool of blood with his throat slit, locals said.

On being informed, police reached the spot and seized the body, and later sent it to a hospital for autopsy test.

“Ram’s throat slit open and he was lying in a pool of blood. We are investigating on some clues available as of now,” said a police official.

The villagers demand stringent punishment to the killers and adequate compensation to the deceased’s family.
