Keonjhar: A college girl was killed after being run over by a speeding truck at Jagannathpur Square in front of Keonjhar District & Session Judge on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Sasmita Sahoo of Babulal Colony in Keonjhar town. She was a student of Keonjhar Government Women’s College.
The mishap took place in the morning while the deceased was on her way to appear for college examination riding a bicycle. A speeding truck coming from behind lost balance at Jagannathpur Square and struck her from behind. After the victim fell off the bicycle, another truck coming from the opposite direction mowed her down.
Keonjhar Town Police reached the spot and rushed the dead body for autopsy later in the morning. They have also started investigation in the incident after seizing the truck.
