Cuttack: Mystery shrouded the death of a college girl whose body was found hanging on the rooftop of a private hostel located near Sailabala Women’s College near Madhusudan road in Cuttack.
The deceased has been identified as Arpita Rout, a resident of Patkura area of Kendrapara district.
As per the hostel inmates, Arpita who studied in +2 classes in Emarti Devi Women’s College in the city and stayed at Matrukrupa Ladies Hostel was normal till last evening and had her dinner. However, she went to the rooftop of his living room by the wee hours today over unknown reason and hung herself to death.
While police have seized the body of the deceased for autopsy after reaching the spot, they have not ruled out foul play in the case. As the feet of the deceased was found touching the ground, some locals have claimed it to be a case of murder.
