College And Hostel In Malkangiri Of Odisha Declared Containment Zone

Malkangiri: A private college and its adjoining hostel has been sealed by the district administration today due to large scale violation of Covid protocols and detection of Covid positives.

The college and the hostel have been declared as a Containment Zone. Contact tracing of the students and the teachers is being done on emergency basis.

It is noteworthy that, Malkangiri district in Odisha shares its borders with Chhattisgarh which is one of the worst affected states in India.

A number of students in this college have tested Covid positive hence forcing the authorities to close both the college and the hostel. The students have been asked to go back home.

Antigen testing has been done for all the students of the college.

It is to be noted that in the past 24 hrs Malkangiri has recorded 26 Covid positives out of the 1374 positives in Odisha.
