Collectors of 3 Titli-hit districts asked to complete village road repairing

Bhubaneswar: In an effort to speed up relief and restoration works in cyclone ‘Titli’ affected Ganjam, Gajapati and Rayagada, the Odisha Government today directed Collectors of these districts to complete the road repairing and construction works in these districts on a priority basis.

In his letter to the Collectors of Ganjam, Gajapati and Rayagada districts, Panchayati Raj Department’s Secretary DK Singh asked them to complete the works of Gram Panchayat and Gram Samiti roads by converging funds from MGNREGS, GGY, CFC & SFC Grant and other available funds in Blocks and Gram Panchayats.

“This shall be treated extreme urgent and to be acted upon immediately,” mentioned Singh in his letter.

Notably, roads at the Gram Panchayat and Panchayat Samiti levels in these three districts have been extensively damaged due to the onslaught of cyclone ‘Titli’ and the subsequent flood. These damaged roads are causing difficulties for the smooth conduct of relief and restoration works.
