Malkangiri: District collector of Malkangiri, Manish Agarwal has set an example by admitting his wife at the District Headquarters Hospital for delivery. The wife of the IAS officer has delivered a baby at the hospital a week ago.
Sources at the hospital said that the district collector also used to take his wife for regular checkup to the hospital.
The decision of the bureaucrat to visit government-run hospital instead of private ones has emerged as an assurance for common people of the Maoist dominated district.
“It is hard to believe that the collector admitted his wife at the government-run hospital. This will definitely instill confidence among people in the healthcare service provided by the state government,” said a local.
