Cold wave likely to grip Odisha from tomorrow, MeT issues yellow warning

Bhubaneswar: The cold wave condition is likely to grip Odisha from tomorrow, predicted the Regional Centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bhubaneswar. The weather department has issued yellow warning for several districts for the next three days.

Reportedly, dry weather is expected to prevail over the districts of Odisha. The minimum night temperature is very likely to fall gradually by 3 to 5 degrees Celsius during the next three days in the State. A yellow warning for isolated dense fog at Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Kandhamal and Kalahandi districts today.

The weather department has further issued yellow warning for cold waves over Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Bolangir, Sonepur, Sundargarh, and Keonjhar districts tomorrow.

Similarly, the warning has been issued for Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Bolangir, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Angul, Deogarh, Nuapada, Keonjhar, and Sundargarh districts on January 29 and Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Bolangir, Sonepur, and Nuapada districts on January 30.

Adding to it, some parts of Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj districts are likely to receive light spells of rain in the next 24 hours.
