Cold Wave Continues To Grip Odisha, Temp Below 10 Degree In 19 Places

Bhubaneswar: Odisha continued to reel under intense cold wave conditions as mercury dipped below 10 degree Celsius in as many as 19 places.

Daringbadi and Phulbani in Kandhamal district became the coldest places in the state with minimum temperature of 4 and 4.5 degree Celsius. On the other hand, capital city Bhubaneswar shivered at 9.5 degree Celsius on Monday.

On Sunday, the capital city recorded its coolest December day (8.2 degree Celsius), breaking the 26 year old record.

Intense cold weather has increased the woes of residents in the interior parts of the state which are worst affected by cold waves. Dense fog engulfs many places till late in the day due to which people are forced to remain indoors.

The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted that intense cold wave conditions will continue in the state for the next 48 hours.
